In this COVID-19 pandemic, Omega Rehab Federation distributed ration kits for the tribals, plantation workers and daily wagers living in Mudigere Taluk, Karnataka from 18-06-21 to 24-06-21.
We focused primarily on the disabled, widows, elderly (couples/singles) and those on the verge of starvation due to the pandemic lockdown. These were selected from several coffee estates and villages in Mudigere Taluk.
We were able to help 675 families – each ration kit containing 10 kg rice, 2 kg wheat flour, 2 kg ragi flour, 1 kg rava, 1 kg Toor dal, 1 kg brown channa, 1 ltr cooking oil, 1 kg sugar, 1 kg salt, 4 (65g) bath soaps, and 2 (140g) washing soaps.
All together we distributed 6750 kg of rice and 7115 kg of essentials (mentioned above), a total of 13.86 tonnes.
Thus, including Kalvarayan hills and Mudigere taluk, we distributed ration kits to 1000 families worth of 20500 kg (20.5 tonnes).
